Streets of Seattle

Seattle is a beautiful city. Did I say that already? Because I just got back from Chicago and I still think Seattle’s beautiful. Walking around the streets, there’s a ton of cool buildings that line each side of the major streets.

I’m a bit upset about the above photo because there was something on my lens that I didn’t see when I took the photo. It made part of that building blurry… tried to cover it up on photoshop but didn’t really work out.

One cool thing I found was that there’s a walkway between Macy’s and its parking garage that looms over a major street. After my Ride the Ducks tour, I made my way up to that walkway and took some photos of the street below.

It was difficult because there were metal wires lining the windows in a checkered pattern to reinforce the glass and preventing anybody from breaking it and jumping off. I found a way around it though – using my 25mm f/1.4 lens at maximum aperture and as close as possible to the glass, the wires are blurred out enough to have almost no effect on the final image.

From the roof of the parking garage, you also get some pretty good views of neighboring buildings and streets. I love the architecture in Seattle.

While Seattle’s infamous for its rain, I was lucky enough to have visited when the weather was beautiful. Just check out the beautiful blue skies reflected in the building above.

I think I covered Pike’s Place market inadvertently in the Weekly Photo Challenge so no need to repost that… I may do another post about Kerry Park but probably not.

I may be ready to post about Colorado now… if only I can finish processing the photos…
